I'm a sole proprietor, so I cannot use company or co.
Is that a law somewhere?
I know that incorporated businesses can use company or co, but I don't think I've read anything that said sole proprietors can't use that as part of their DBA name.

I'm 99% sure I read that in my Minnesota SBA book; 500 pages of pure bliss I tell you.
It stated something to the effect of: "sole proprietor may not use company or co. in conjuction with DBA name. if and when one becomes incorporated, they may then apply for a DBA edit, and modify the name as necessary." -- something like that anyways.

That's the first I've ever heard anything like that. I thought co. or company was just as it says, a company!
I know in my state that if you are a corporation, then it must be a part of your name in some fashion.
