Default sleeve letter placement

Putting names on hoodie sleeve spelled out horizontally (sample: MARSHALL) Need to know which sleeve works best (R or L sleeve)? Should the M be facing towards the front or towards the back? I have some names that are 5 letters long and nick names that have 17 letters. Do I start both of them at the same distance from the shoulder seam? What is the right distance I thought I heard one time 3'' but I think that was for lettering stacked vertically, I could be mistaken??? Any help is much appreciated. These are Christmas presents for my wife's family. Merry Christmas to all the forum members and their families....

Seems like that is more of a judgment call on which sleeve, I am not aware that there is a "standard" and one is not easier to print than the other.

On my right sleeve, when I look at the image while wearing it, it is upside down to me. With my arm stretched out straight in front of me, a person to my right side would read it right side up. Again, seems like that is more of a judgment call, and we kind of based it on the orientation of the text on the binding of a book, I am not aware that there is a "standard". We did look at this same hoodie with the text printed the opposite way and it seemed all wrong...

Judgment again, but in my opinion, centered vertically to the elbow rather than to the top or bottom of the sleeve. We print these on the side, centered horizontally to the natural crease in the garment from where it was folded. The spacing on the text seems like it matters less how far apart they are and more that it is consistent...

Now that I read back, it sounds kind of confusing, but I think I hit all the details...

Happiest holidays to you, and to all those on the forums as well...

We did raid shirts for a police department and found that if small enough, we just line it up with the seam being the centerpoint. Looks nice also when worn because you can see the whole thing. Hope this helps.
