what is the correct order/necessary steps to starting a t-shrit line. am i doing it right so far?
right now im in the process of having a designer make me a logo for my brand name. soon as i get this, i am planning on copywriting/ trademarking it? right?
ok next step after that. i plan on hiring some designers to design me some shirts.
next step: when i have all my designs, i plan on contacting a print company and having them printed. while this is going on i will have a website built?
is there anything wrong with this method? should i be adding/ subtracting anything? i dont want to make any major mistakes so if you help ill appreciate it

If you do a search here on the forums, you can find alot of information on starting up by searching that term. You are missing quite a bit from your plan and that is all of the business stuff Such as licensing you will need to sell, and what your state requires to run a business. Here is a really great thread that you can learn alot from Things I wish I'd known from the start.. Hope this helps to get you to think of other things you may have over looked If you need any other help just let us know, and we will be glad to.

With a trademark it can take anywhere from 3 months to a year for the process to be complete. That is the usual time line. Here is a link with more information on the process What happens after I file my application?. Hope this helps

yep I agree, you can hire a service like legalzoom that will do the whole thing for you, or you can do it yourself at the site I linked you too I would probably do legal zoom, just because I would not want to deal with doing it, and to make sure everything is done properly. But that is just me

You need to have your logo finalized first, cuz you will need to attach a black and white jpeg of it to your application.
Fill out the application, and if you have not yet sold anything with your brand on it, then on the appropriate screen, select "1b" for "intend to Use" then complete the application and pay the filing fee.
Once you have sold across state lines, you will need to file additional paperwork to actually register and confirm your trademark.
This is a discussion about what is the correct order/necessary steps to starting a t-shrit line. am i doing it right so far? that was posted in the General T-Shirt Selling Discussion section of the forums.
