Increase humidity. Static effect is increased in environments of low humidity. Buildings using air-conditioning, high levels of heating, or those with a lot of insulation can have low humidity.
Wear different shoes maybe.... Experiment with different soles to reduce your shoes' take-up of charge from synthetic carpets. Spray the carpet with an anti-static agent available from carpet suppliers.
You can create an inexpensive anti-static spray by dumping a lot of fabric softener into a spray bottle filled with water. Spray this on carpets and other surfaces to prevent static buildup.

The floors are all tile. I was thinking about a humidifier, so maybe that is the way I need to go.

That will work, but make sure all the moisture is out of the garments while pressing. We (NJ) have had sooo much rain this fall, I Had to pre press 3 times today, total of 18 sec. What a PIA.

I noticed that when my hands are damp and I touch the exposure unit that I get a little jolt. It is sitting atop a table on concrete. I don't know if that is normal or if I might have an underlying issue. I know what you mean regarding vinyl having an electric life of its own sometimes.

We've had a little rain, and some freezing drizzle/snow but nothing TOO bad lately. Still dry enough to have bad static electricity I guess
This may sound funny but when we get that static around here we connect a wire to the equipment that we are working on and the other end to our ankle. We use an alligator clip so when we walk away it will break free with out tripping us. My employees laughed until they had had enough of getting shocked. Now they all use it or wear rubber gloves. When all else fails if it fails, try it you may like it.
