Default Interesting question

Interesting question
Im opening a tshirt print store in a mall, ill be able to offer customers to choose a design from the computer stands around the store and the type of tshirt and print on the spot using a t-jet.
customers can also come with their own designs.
My question is can I be held liable for any copyright issues when someone walks in with a design lets say the superman logo and I print it for him. Am I liable also?

Yes, but I believe you can C.Y.A. and have them sign some sort of form/waiver saying that you will not be held liable.

Yes, you are. The extent of that liability would need to be determined by a jury if sued, but you're certainly not going to get away with the Superman example, for example

Agree with Lewis, waiver or not, a lot will depend on common sense. In court, they will claim you knew, or should have known, that some joe smo coming to your kiosk would not have the license to print the Superman logo, so you should not have done it.

With that kind of company, do you think that there will be a problem with people coming in with art to print what is basically a replica of a designer shirt and they are printing it at your store because they can get the shirt for $x rather than buying a real one for $xxx???

You better prepare to have every type of phone to usb cable on hand because thats where half your art is going to come from. Can you just imagine all the poor garbage photo files you are gonna deal with. "Hey...my photo looked great on the 2x2 screen but on the shirt it looks Uuuugggg"!
