Is it ok to sell t-shirts with another brand name on it?
Hi all,
I am just starting to put my own appliques on baby clothes and t-shirts. I do not have a supplier yet, but have been shopping at discount stores for blanks, and selling them with my own applique on it. Is it ok to sell clothes with someone else's tag on them, especially if I have not bought it directly from that company?

MaxMood,
Yes you can remove there tag and replace it with your own on any tee. All you need to have in addition to your private label is the country of origin, care instructions and an RN number. The RN number identifies the manufacturer. Regardless of who made the shirt it is perfectly legal to do this.

Reason: Misspelled name

It is compulsory in the US to print care instructions and then either an RN or your full legal company name (not merely a trademark or trade name). As well as some other things (e.g. fibre content).
Other countries have similar laws too. Canada has a CA instead of an RN, but most or all other countries don't have a registration system.
If you're selling to your local market, you'll need to check Malaysian and Singaporean laws.
