Here's what I was going to do...
Get my screen printing done in the states. Get my order shipped to a close friend.
Drive into the good ol' USA and pick up orders at said friends house who lives in NJ. Then drive with my goods back into Canada.
A few questions...

Does anybody have any experience with going over the border with significant amounts of t-shirts?

Does anybody recieve goods shipped into Canada from the USA or anywhere else in the world?

What is the biggest problem you run into with this?

Are there legal issues regarding a company bringing merch over the border?

Hidden Costs?????
(I had an issue with brokerage fees once that ended up costing more than the hair dryer I bought!!!)


Do you think this would be this would be a more cost efficient way of beating SOME border costs???

All the good companies are in the USA....

You'll need to check with the Canada border services agency to get the details on something like this. Welcome to the Canada Border Services Agency | Bienvenue à l'Agence des services frontaliers du Canada

Keep in mind that you will most likely have to pay Canadian tax on the things you are bringing in.

Have you actually priced having screen printing done in Canada? After you consider everything, I can't imagine the hassle of paying for shipping, waiting at the border, paying taxes, paying for gas, and wasting your time driving back and forth is really going to add up to significant savings.

You should be able to bring a NAFTA product back no problem but i think you must pay GST. I know it is way way cheaper to get stuff done in the states. For example I live in Ontario. I can get a discharge print done in L.A for $4.25 (which is dirt cheap) including the AAA shirt if I want. A friend of mine uses him for everything ( I do my own printing) and he always comes through. He gets it shipped to Ogdensburg, New York to a UPS store and just goes and picks it up. You should do it if you live close to the border like we do. It may be worth your time.
