Hello all,

First off I'm new here and to t-shirts. I wanted to thank you for the information I've gathered from this site so far.

I haven't seen, or found any threads pertaining to Inkjet transfers vs. CLC transfers. So my question is, "if money wasn't an issue" (yea right that'll happen

) what would you prefer to use and why? I'm thinking of transfers for t-shirts, not tile or awards or hats, etc.

Anyhow, sorry if this has already been beat to death.

And thanks in advance for any replies.

Some think that clc transfers are better because you print using toner instead of inks. Meaning that they will wash better. Which is not necessarily true. Inkjet transfers will wash just as nice. The problem with inkjet is alot of people think they have to print in photo quality mode...that mode drops too much ink on the paper causing bleeding or fading when washed.

So if not photo quality .. then what is the correct mode to print in ?

Standard paper mode is the best for printing on inkjet transfer paper.

imho, clc transfers are cheaper to print than injet.

And, there is no comparison, cost-wise and aggravation-wise, between inkjet sublimation and clc dye sublimation.

I haven't heard this before. I've been using "Photo" mode without any apparent problems; I'm usuing pigmented inks so bleeding isn't a problem anyway, but I don't know if it fades differently.

Anyone else have an opinion on this? (I suppose people should list the inks/paper they are using with what quality/print settings as well.)

I imagine it depends on what transfer paper you are using, all transfer paper is not created equal.

Hi Rob, I don't have price list around to Double Check, but I think 11x17 CLC name brand transfer paper is about $ 1 something Canadian $$$. You can always cut them in half too.

Does this sound right ?
