Seriously, we tried making a couple in other colors and hardly sold any of them. The pink, blue, yellow and green were really the only ones that people were looking for, your market may vary...
I use to only embroider on colors (soft pink, baby blue, dark pink, royal blue, red, yellow, black, navy) but I realized it just cost more and I can make the same amount of money and pocket more if I use WHITE onsies.
So I changed over to white onsies. When I finish them,I put them in COLORED organza bags, pink, baby blue, green, etc... and they look SO CUTE on display in a basket. They are ready to gift give and I just saved about $1 by buying White Onsies.
Thanks! I love to hear what everyone thinks and actually does. It will help me decide which direction to go. By the way what brand of onesies do you use?
There are different types of fabrics to consider with baby wear: Interlock is good for printing especially if you want an all over print and baby rib is nice for solids but I wouldn't use it for prints, maybe embroidery.
Sizes are best as 3-6, 6-12, 12-18, 18-24 so you can get a bigger size range.
Also, remember not to advertise or use the word "onesie" as it is owned by Gerber.
it's the baby tee shirt that usually snaps below the crotch (in between the legs). It's a one piece that has a shirt: tank, short sleeve or long that connects into "bottoms" that snap under their diapers.
wow! I don't know if that was a good description or not. Maybe I just confused you even more. I hope not.
I sell a lot of 3 months, probably mostly 3 months. Just make them geared towards new born themes! Those are my best sellers. People snatch them up for baby showers and newborn presents! but that's just me.
This is very interesting. I know what ribbed is, I am curious to see what an interlock is like. I know I have seen them but just am not sure which ones. I embroider and I found the real stretch ones (ribbed) such as Rabbit Skins are harder to work with, they move around a lot while embroidering. I was hoping to use those for printing. What were your concern for not printing on them? Now, I am a little concerned, I will have to try it out.
