Default Anyone else's sales been UNUSUALLY low this month?

I have been in business for just about 2 years now and this month in particular (yes I know it just began) seems to be particularly slow so far. Has anyone experienced this too? The economy you think? I want to hear some thoughts. Maybe my site is just taking a nose dive...

I think it's mainly the economy....I feel the US is in a recession right now even though a lot of people keep denying it and saying things like "the US will go into a recession soon"....the fact is that the recession has already hit the US.

Maybe you could consider targeting other countries like Canada or Europe.

I read a study where residents of 39 states feel the United States is already in a recession. I think that folks are cutting back due to the economy as well as gas price increases. I'm sure there will still be sales maybe just not as much "impulse buying" Just my .02

Great! I just quit my day job to take this on full time. I guess I will shift some focus to the custom T-shirt thing and I will look into international marketing. That is a good idea. Still wondering if anyone else is struggling this month also...

We've been struggling since the beginning of the year!!

We've been making some major changes (relocated store locations...etc.) which are beginning to pay off but I think the economy and especially the gas prices are starting to bite deep into peoples wallets.

Well we all know that January is the worst month ever for the T-shirt industry, but my February and March were pretty strong. April OK/pretty good. This month, BAD!

I was doing pretty good this year until after march. Then it got really bad. But several weeks ago it started getting pretty good again. Sales come and go in cycles. I've been through several cycles so far so I am used to it now. I am scrambling to make lots of new successful designs and working on a new web site. I know for sure that very good times will come again soon, and I want to be well prepared to take advantage of them. I don't allow the down times to discourage me.

I deal mainly with large companies and my sales are on par with last year at the same time. ..JB

I think you are right Richard. In my short time I have most definitely seen cycles, both in traffic and sales. I think I need to focus less on that and more on the business in general. Just keep improving and hope for the best. Thanks.

Now that's the way to do it.

It's also a good time to think about working on a press release and trying to get it out to the local media, magazines and blogs that your customers are interested in.
