My husband and I are planning to start up a tshirt business. But I am a little confused on how to start and which way to go i.e. type of printing. I am planning on designing the shirts. How should we get started, is having our shirts produced overseas be a good idea or should we try to do them in house?

Hi, Molly and Welcome - Well, there's really no "one size fits all" business model to point at and say, "This is the way it's done." So, you and your husband and just going to have to dig-in and start researching. The good news is you've found a great place to do just that.

There's no need to have your shirts "produced overseas." You didn't say where you're from, but you should be able to find everything you need locally or at least on the Internet. Good Luck!

Thanks triple T - I'm finding that I like the screen printing way of things...no it just finding the equipment at an affordable price.

A heat press and a vinyl cutter are also some pieces of equipment that should also be considered as well. A cutter and a heat press are great compliments to a screen printing system. these pieces of equipment will be very cost effective methods to produse short runs of 25 and under.
