I was wondering if any or man of you are/were faced with the same decision. One day i had a great idea for a shirt and i purchased a screen printing machine and began printing. These shirts sold good i made a decision to walk away from my job. I had nothing but my dream and my faith. There were alot of things that i obviously didnt see coming, we all learn as we go. There were days where a piece of bread was all i had to eat. I say all this because if somebody else is out there and believes in what they have i encourage you to go for it. Recently an investor was interested and provided funds to really get my business going and my t-shirts are now going to be a full blown clothing line. Just stay encouraged and remember you only live once and you have to be willing to suffer to get where you want too. My faith allowed me to see past the suffering and kept my eye on my dream. Sorry for the long message but sometimes a little encouragement is all we need to get us over the hump. Just to know somebody else that has went through or is going through that same situation is all u need to draw alittle more strength from with in. God Bless. Thank you for this awesome , awesome website...
One of the best posts I have read here. Congrats on your well earned success.
I really appreciate your comments. In the end it truly is all worth it. You make your own hours, you enjoy what you do and you make money with the freedom of knowing you will not be layed off or fired.
I really needed that encouragement. I'm in the same situation. I have a decent paying job but i also have vision, dreams, and goals i want to accomplish. but how can i when i'm bound to slavery (AKA my JOB!). The employee system zaps one's vision and causes it to be delayed. You can spend years of your life slaving for someone else while in the process of making them RICH and at any moment your JOB can be taken away and then what? Because you were working/slaving for the company, you didn't have time to work on the craft or idea that was in you for so long. I choose different.
My mom worked for the same company for over 20 years. When her particular department closed they told her she had to retire or move to another city if she wanted to keep her job! 20+ YEARS OF HER LIFE DEVOTED TO THE COMPANY AND THEY COULDN'T FIND HER ANOTHER POSITION WITHIN THE COMPANY? Keep in mind i'm talking about a MAJOR company that could have done that. All that time she commited to these people and they treated her like she'd been there one day. She had to live in another city 4 hrs away for 3 yrs before they found a position for her back in our original city! I made my mind up then that I wouldn't allow myself to be put in that type of position. People are done like that everyday and it's sad! I choose to follow my dreams cause i'd rather sale out for me rather the devil (AKA) A JOB!
I just want to encourage everyone to follow their dreams. YOU CAN MAKE IT! YOUR COMPANY CAN BE WHAT YOU WANT IT TO BE! IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THERE ARE 1000 COMPANIES THAT SELL T-SHIRTS. THERE IS ONLY ONE OF YOU WHICH SETS YOU APART! THERE ARE BILLIONS OF PEOPLE WAITING FOR YOUR CREATIONS! BE ENCOURAGED!!
I will be forced to make that same choice printzofpeace made very soooon. It's good to know someone else did it and were successful. Thanks for your transparency! If you can make so can I! Be Blessed!
Hey, I feel ya completely. I am in college now and feel like a slave to the educational system. Yeah I have learned a lot and matured vastly over the last 23 years, but I feel like my life is controlled and destined by the 1st person to call me and offer me a job paying over 40k a year.
I told my parents I would never be a corporate worker, or work for the state or government, just does not appeal to my nature.
So congratulations, it is extremely refreshing to hear that my dreams can come true as well.
Do you have a weblink to your store or any of your shirts? I am sure a ton of us would love to see what got you where you are today.
Good to hear that everything worked out for you. They say that if you want things bad enough then you will work hard for them. I guess I have to keep working hard. Anyway Good luck with the clothing line!!

Thats what really made me go for it. We spend so much of our lives not truly enjoying what we want. Nothing can stop your dream but you!! I know ups and downs come but you got to be willing to stick it out. In the end it is all worth it. We are trained to hustle somebody elses dream and we are so dependant on everybody else. I seen 3 generations of my family work pay check to pay check at 60 when they should be enjoying the rest of there lives.... The only guarentee in life is that we get a chance to live it..
Wow !!!!! Thanks for the great words. I too was faced with those same decisions and didn't have the courage to quit my job. I now have a Business that cosumes all my spare time. I think you just gave me the push I need ...... JB
Man, you did it! The act of stepping out on faith is the victory already.
If one would take the leap of faith to believe in themselves and in their "help", I believe that that person has achieved success, no matter how others may see them.
Everybody has dreams of doing something they enjoy to be productive in their lives.
Because we have to eat, some cant afford the faith and sacrifice that it takes to MAKE the dream a reality.
There is no luck, only making manifest a reality.
I'm glad you put this post up tonight. You really re-motivitated and re-energized me and many others I'm sure.

Those were all great quotes. Thanks for sharing those. Did you ever read the book. "Rich Dad Poor Dad" thats an amazing book. It talks about the different mind sets between the rich and the poor.

You couldnt have said it any better than that. There are still times now, where on the surface it may seem like i dont have much or there is no victory. But the fact that i have commited to my faith and pushed myself to do what i love in life. Your right ,that is a huge victory. THat is success to me as well . Victories in the mind and spirit eventually become transparent in your life. Thanks for the feed back. Its good to know that im not alone.
