Me and my boyfriend stumbled upon what we think is a brilliant idea for a t-shirt. Until we came to this site, we didn't realize just how much time and effort goes into making our shirts a reality. We are both stumped and confused as to where to start. All we want to know is what would be the best possible method of printing for simple statement t-shirts. We are excited to begin but we are in dieing need of suggestions.
Stereohead,
There is a few ways you could go. You could have them printed out by a local screen printer or dtg printer. Or you could invest in your own printing equipment. If you decide to print them yourself there is several posting on different ways you could print after you decide which way you would like to go. Good luck and hope this helps you some. Karen

Step #1 Calm down. The last thing you want to do in business is make hurried, irrational decisions. These can cause lots of mistakes and wasted money on purchases that never needed to be spent.
Let me ask you: what is your goal for your business? Would you like to be a full service online store? Would you like to open a retail location? Would a fulfillment service be a better fit for what you do? If you open a store with a fulfillment company like Cafepress, zazzle, spreadshirt, etc., you pay a nominal fee or nothing to open a store, and simply create and upload your artwork and promote your store and collect a check when your designs sell. You won't make a killing per shirt, but it can be very good money in your pocket without very much out of pocket expense.

Thank you guys so much. Your comments did help us at least decide what direction we want to head in, thanks to Tim, and we are aware of our options. This business seems a lot more complicated than expected.
