Hi, I need some help deciding which type of equiptment to go with for my business. I have a customer that whats 40 t-shirts per week. The shirts will have a simple one or two color design/logo but each week a new class number will need to be printed on the shirts. White cotton is okay for the shirts but the customer is open to color or shirt types. This customer also wants a special order of 200 shirts once or twice a year and wants high performance shirts for this order. Typically in the past, these shirts have been navy blue with gold lettering in cotton, but now there is a big demand for high performance. I have another customer who wants their sailing team's boat printed on a white shirt with their team name. This is a small order but may lead to many more jobs with the sailing club.
Now, I've been going around in circles on which type of equiptment to go with. At first, I was thinking
DTG for the ability to print on light or dark fabrics(with the right printer) but I'm limited to cotton. I've also been considering sub/dye on poly and heat transfers on cotton, and also getting a vinyl cutter for vinyl transfers. Eventually, I would like to open a bricks and mortar storefront and cater to small custom orders for businesses, etc. I would like to also expand(down the road) into embroidery. I'm not interested in screen printing at all. Which method would be the best to get started. It seems like I could get more versatility for the buck with the sub/dye/tranfer/vinyl route vs. just the
dtg printer. Any thoughts would be very appreciated.....thanks.
