Hello, I am in the process of starting a t-shirt- clothing business style like affliction clothing. It seems that all the businesses around me (Orlando, florida) are not offering everything I need. Does anyone no of a good local or place that I can get high quality screen printed t-shirts that is a complete dye house also with good prices. Someone said that Affliction clothing is done by JS Apparel, but it looks like JS apparel is only a dye house not a screen printer. So they get there t-shirts dyed and then printed at a different place of business. THANKS for any help and advie

Im in the same boat that your in. I started my own clothing line and been wondering how affliction and some of these other top clothing lines print their stuffs. I remember watching the tapout tv show and it looks like they do theirs in house. not sure about these other ones. Im also trying to find out who can print designs wrapping around the shirt.

Im trying to get a promo shirt done but the quotes im getting are all over the place for the same quantity, color, shirt style. its crazy.

Will guys, if getting Affliction clothes made was easy everyone here would have them too, there is Sunburst Apparel and Pacific Apparel that will do wide and over all prints.The dyeing and other things can be done elsewhere.Did you invest in a dremmel yet? Have you thought about buying silk screen equipment?

For me, at this point in time since im still getting it off the ground, i rather have someone else print the shirts and if God permits things go well then i will invest in those equipments. I have quite a few designs but wanted to start with a few so ive been getting quotes on screen printing but they are very limited on where on the shirt to print them. I see all these shirts w/ imprints all over the place. somebody has to print them unless its done in house. i did look up those 2 websites u mentioned. thank you.

Those are done by screen printers who specialize in either "all over" prints or other specialty prints. RawTalentInc.com can do prints like that.

Yes, they are not a screen printer, nor a dye house. Actually JS is the blank t manufacturer. I called them couple of times & a bit hard to reach...

Companies like Affliction, Ed Hardy, etc. who get their clothes cut and sewn by JS Apparel and other manufacturers purchase more than 50,000 or more pieces a month.

Rodney is right about the belt printing. Affliction is printed by Massive Prints, which specializes is oversize and allover prints, and has before Affliction was ever developed as a label. They use water based ink and print their stuff on M&R Belt Printers. These pieces of equipment cost a few hundred thousand apiece, and there are not many in the country, I believe.

And Affliction uses LA Wash and Dye House in Los Angeles. It's not local to you... but it might be hard to find local wash and dye houses that do what you are looking for. Maybe Miami?

It's expensive to manufacture, wash, dye, and print a shirt like Affliction with the same quality of Affliction.

It could be more attainable than you think, but you have to be willing to have the capital if you want the same processes that the big boys use.

think $12-$15/tee for an xl jumbo "all over print" top to bottom-folding, bagging, inside printed labels, wash.

If 12-15 may seem like a lot, but quality costs money.

not sure if this got answered, but a wrap around is usually done by printing on the material, then being sewn. your best bet is thailand. as far as all over printing, and just about anything that affliction offers, matteo studios in california is by far the best pricing that i've seen. we have just started using them and are thrilled with the quality! ask for jason and tell him that chris from Not Ashamed in jacksonville sent you

Hi, newby here myself. I am working on my own label and looking for the "Affliction/Sinful" blanks at affordable prices.

Like Cotery said quality cost money, but am hoping to find what I m looking for at a price I can work with. I ordered some samples from Alternative apparel and they are very nice but I have done the math and by the time I pay a screen printer I will not have a profit margin to wholesale.

Of course there is more money in retail but I would like or rather need the margin to introduce my line in local higher end boutiques.

please PM with suggestions as I am not sure where to begin

I notice that you asked about a local dye house. I'm not sure about that here in florida (i'm in jacksonville) but I just went to ISS Orlando and met with the guys from Relik. They have the Affilction kind of shirts and already dye'd! i just ordered samples to show my customers and hoping to place my first full order this week! http://www.relikapparel.com/ from talking to them, they are bringing out womens cuts, then more wash's, then hoodys, etc. create quality!

and as far as printing, the cheapest in the nation as i said before is Jason from Matteo out in California. Even after the shipping he is still the cheapest. contact both of these people and get your clothing line banging!

As for the topic of wash houses in Florida. We have been unable to locate one. We have had samples made in other wash houses in different parts of the country but they where unable to produce the quality, texture and feel we had been looking for and compromising the quality of our blanks was not a choice. It seems that some of the best wash houses are in or around the LA area. As for ourselves we ended up having to go overseas to be able to offer a competitive price.

Normally wash houses have minimums and not very cost efficient just to do a couple dozens or even a couple hundreds. The preliminary samples alone may easily run into a couple hundred bucks, depending on wash styles and how many colors desired. Overseas is even more.

In my opinion: For young organizations I recommend buying the blanks from a local US distributor and do not look into wash houses until you are ready to produce at least a couple thousands garments.

There are many companies trying to do affliction style shirts. I only know the company who prints them but do not know anyone in Orlando. Sorry ...
