Hello I’m in the process of starting two clothing lines ,the first line (Known) will be a urban /skater appeal that will have a demographic targeted towards men and women 13-26 yrs of age.

I plan to come out with several seasonal collections that will be sold only during certain seasons, the shirts will be a variety of screen print, heat print and embroidery. The 2nd clothing line is called Ahava Shalom it’s a Christian line targeted towards Christians that like to represent their faith, but keep up with the latest trends and styles at the same time.

I am currently designing all my design by hand, I have a domain name through goddady.com as well as a business/resellers License, but other than that I’m not sure what else to do regarding financial needs to start up( I don’t know how much I will need) .

I don’t know where to get a graphic designer from or a computer program to design my clothes , where to go to manufacture the clothes or how to get my clothing line into retail stores can I please get some good advice ?

Shalom - Are you asking how much money it will take to start your company, or where to go to get financing to start your company?

If your looking for financing, it's just about impossible to get money for an idea - and at this point that's what it sounds like you have.

I suggest that you spend a great deal of time researching this forum before you do anything. You'll gain a tremendous amount of knowledge (flying blind is not safe), and ask specific questions if you don't see the answers you're looking for.

Depends on how much product you'll be ordering, how you'll be producing your samples, etc.

I would suggest starting out a business plan and then researching the answers by searching the forum for the questions.

You can hire a freelance graphic designer from places like elance.com, guru.com, designoutpost.com, odesk.com, rentacoder.com, etc.

Most screen printers will be able to produce the t-shirts for you. Just check out your local phone book and call around to screen printers in the area to see if they can produce the type of shirts you want to put out.

Thanks Triple T for the advice I will defiantly search the forums more ! I am not looking for financing right now, but I am trying to understand how much I would need to start up a clothing line I have already started writing a business plan I also picked out 10 design that would be cheapest to produce first. I am primarily looking for an estimate of how much I would need to start up a clothing line ?

Here's a link to some good start-up info including costs. There are so many variables involved that it's hard to say without knowing your exact situation. That's one reason why a business plan is so important - it will give you a place to start figuring your costs.
