racetrack photographs on t-shirts? what are the legalities?
Just checking to see if anyone knows if its legal to use pictures i have taken at dirt track racing event of the cars in the race.i generaly cutout the background and just use the car in the graphic file i create..now if i print this on a t shirt is it legal.i can sell the pictures on smumug,is there a diffrence. thanks for any input on this
I don't think it would be legal. It would be best to check with the owners of the car/team, and possibly the race organizers first. Where you sell the product doesn't really have any bearing on wether it is acceptable or not. Just my 0.02, but I would say better safe than sorry!
You can do it if you remove any identifying marks from the car such as the number.
That's true. I was thinking more of the original image, I suppose, of which would most likely be covered in sponser logos and the sort. As long as the car is generic looking enough, you should be okay.
sponsor lables all over them so im just gonna mask my pics in photo shop and paint them then put my own stickers on them and random numbers .just not easy to take pics the whole race then get out there and track down hundread or so car owners trying to get permission.so im good on this ill just keep posting pics for the fans to check out...once again thanks for the info.
