best way to ship 24 t-shirts from california to florida?
how much would it cost to ship 24 t shirts, lets say from california to florida? i did a a calculation and i think that 2 t shirts would be 1 pound, am i right? what would be the best method/cheaper for shiping them, usps or ups?
Thanks
USPS is always going to be cheaper than UPS or FedEX....
That said, who is paying for the shipping? Is this an order you don't want to take chances with? How soon does it have to be there?
If the customer or recipient is paying for shipping, and you want guaranteed delivery at a certain time/date, stay away from USPS. Use FedEX or UPS. UPS is generally less expensive on ground shipping, but that's a general statement. I've seen where FedEx ground CAN be less expensive.
Go to the web sites and punch in your info for shipping, they have cost calculators to help you decide. And failing that, go to the local strip mall, find a Pak-Mail or Mailboxes ETC...any shipping center that's NOT UPS Store or Kinkos and ask THEM what's the most economical way to get your package where it needs to go with the greatest security.
Those people generally live and breathe that stuff!
I just seen a story on the news where they did a test to see who was cheapest and they sent a 1lb fruit cake, well ups was $11 , usps was $8.60 and fedex was just alittle over $7, so fed ex was the cheapest. I always thought they were more expensive but apparently not.

yeah lol i work for fedex kinkos you'd be suprised we have people coming in to ship something and ups will tell them a crazy number the worst ive heard is like 320 something and we cost them 82 dollars lol the big thing is that everything that ships via ups goes air even their ground goes on planes fedex ground is on the road the whole time.
but now that ive found my passion hopefully i wont be working at fedex kinkos too much longer
From concord NH 03301 to Beverly Hills Cali (the only cali zipcode i know and the system we have only quotes from our zipcode) a distance of 2976 miles would cost 11.32 fedex ground and 13.27 home del. the differnce being if its going to a business or a residence. it would take 4 days.

For bulk shipping (6+ t-shirts), I think UPS is usually better than USPS.
could i ship a shirt in a pizza box, or a chinese food carton? If i taped it shut, and did the whole printing the shipping stickers at home.
LOL- umm - okay - yuk - if they've been used..... but - yes for USPS. Can't say for other services. They told my husband any box/carton will do as long as it does not have any barcodes on it. They also said it needs to be large enough for the info to fit on the 'face'. So, the smaller chinese food cartons could give you a problem. Order large.
