Re: Anyone Doing Athletic Wear. I Have Some Questions For You There are a lot of variables there when your talking about a jersey. I offer my clients either teamwork or augusta products at the time. Teamwork is a little more expensive but has more options. Then as far as logo, names, numbers - this all depends on if it's vinyl, screen print, or twill. We offer all three. I price each item out individually based on what the client wants.I have spreadsheets that have my cost for each material laid out per letter, per number and per square inch.
We are getting ready for baseball/softball season and we put packages together of some of the common uniforms and then I price out "options" such as name, number, and logo. You can price the name figuring 7-9 letters and on a full team your going to come out even as some names will be 12 and some will be 4.
Now our plan is to sell the uniforms/jersey cheap and make the money on fan shirts and window stickers, etc. We figure each team needs 12 uniforms - so that usually means at least 24 fan t-shirts and 12 fan stickers and a banner. All of these products have a much higher profit margin than the jerseys. Most of the time by the time mom, dad, player and little sister get a shirt for every player we get nearly 50 shirts per team. To be competive in our market we can only make about 7-8 bucks per uniform. That's only about 90 bucks a team - but the t-shirts, window stickers and banner can give us a profit of over $300. |
