Default Screenprinting Industry Average

Hi folks,

I'm a newbie and have to say this is an exceptional forum.

I've got a few designs I'd like to get out there and I'm hoping that the forum might be able to shed some light on outsourced screenprinting costs.

I've had a couple of quotes for a run of 100 shirts, 2color print in one place and so far they've come back ranging from $40-$120 for the screens.

What would the forum consider an industry average charge for screens & set up?

Also, what would be the industry average unit cost per screenprint be on a run of say 50 or 100 tees?

Thanks guys...

Thats a tough question to answer and I would not expect much in the way of replies as that is generally proprietary information. I will not discuss dollars with even my friends as it has a way of eventually effecting the bottom line. I personally do not charge for screens but factor them into my overall prices. Best I can do for you.

Thanks Matto,

I guess the best way to look at it would be to ascertain an industry average per unit customer price inclusive of screen charges.

I appreciate that there are probably a number of other variables to consider too, such as quality, turnaround times and indeed competition, which may ultimately influence a screenprinters quote. But isn't there a general rule of thumb in the industry that differentiates between a fair price and an over the top price?

I'm looking for what screenprinters would charge a customer not their own costs so hopefully some forum answers might be able to comment.

Well it all comes down to what you are printing, what you think your worth per hour or shirt and what the market will tolerate price wise. My suggestion would be to go out on line and find some printing companies, plug in you requirements and see what they come up with for price. Youy should have a pretty good I dea after five or six quotes what the high, median and low prices will be.

Thanks Matto, will try that too.

If anyone else feels they can be open about what they charge customers on average for a 2 color job in one position for 50-100 tees at a time feel free to PM me or post.
