Default Prefered t shirt color

After spending quite a few hours on this forum it is obvious that you really need different machines for different color t shirts. I am personally hard on t shirts and prefer grey, now I know why they are more difficult to find I am assuming that grey cannot be used with dye sublimation although the lighter the grey was the better it would look? But, the light transfer paper would work fine for grey, wouldn't it? (providing it was a one tone grey and not spotted with black).

Can anyone estimate what percentage of people will not buy a white t shirt? Basically this is lost business if you don't screen print or use plastisol, right?

Why? Screenprinting or a good DTG or vinyl will do any colour job.

Depends what kind of graphics you had in mind. You can get decent results on light colours with dye sublimation, so long as you're using darker graphics (and preferably bold). Even photos can look okay, though I wouldn't recommend it. Slogans and the like? Totally fine.

Not really.

Default Re: Prefered t shirt color

Solmu & jwcollect, thanks for the answers. I had been looking at sublimation for white shirts and something else for the other colors because I wanted to be able to print any type of image. But, you are right about vinyl/plastisol working for any color as long as you are not concerned about printing photo type images and it wears very well.

I can't afford the DTG printer right now and everything I read on this forum scares me about getting them running correctly, and particularly using the white ink.
