Default Ok I Finally Got My First Order Need Your Help

I finally got my first order and it will be a 100 shirts on pocket t's with the company logo on the pocket. few ?'s what would you! charge for this. I know it depends on what i want but i want to get a feel of what some other people will charge for this. would this be considered a wholesale for some. im waiting for the logo to be e-mailed to me but costumer said it was three colors. i was thinking since it is going to be small logo i might be able to have someone like ace transfer make me some gang sheets. just at a glance there site says 3 colors is 6.25 per sheet for 20 sheets and I will be using gildan 6.1oz sand pocket t's $4.00xl $5.50xxl (unless someone no's were i can get them cheaper) i do have access to screen printing equipment but my skills are limited. i want to make sure i do a good job since this is my first order. would anyone consider using heat transfers for a job like this i have only tried jetflex premium from imprintables and there ok but not sure how it will turn out i will probably do some just to see.

sorry so long being my first job i want to make sure i make good choices and would love to hear any opinions thanks in advance.

You are goiung in the right direction with ace plastisol transfers. By the way First Edition is $4.89 per sheet for 20. They have 11 x 11 size. they are slower then Ace though. also you should place a small mouse pad into the pocket to raise the transfer surface away from the seems. and I am not saying that because it is my new product. You can cut it out from a normal mouse padLOL

I'd do them for $8, $9 for the 2XL. If I were trying to beat a competitor and i didn't have much else going on I could knock $1 off that. hopefully you don't have a competitor in your area who does everything in-house. It's hard to be competitive when you have to buy transfers.

There is alot of compition in this town. I did 700 shirts in 14 hours. I charged $5.75 and made $2100 profit in a weekend. there has been a lot of talk in the industry about how small screen printers are up against people like us who do pastisol transfers. The large screen printer are feeling the heat fro off shore printers as well. This plastisol transfer I believe lets us go head to head with screen printer. All my customers have bben happy with my work. and A lot of them have used direct screen printers in the past.

I'd print my own plastisol transfers. I figure it would take me 4 hours to print 100 3 color transfers with a real cost of 50 cents max. If you pay $5 each from a supplier, that's $500 in transfers. I have $50 tied up doing them myself. Thats a $450 difference in cost for 4 hours work.

Before buying my screen printing equipment I price shopped around the area. There was no way I could be competitive buying transfers. The quotes I was getting as a walk-in customer were less than my shirt+plastisol transfer cost.

The reason I make my own plastisol transfers is because (1) I don't have a conveyor dryer and (2) I think pressing the ink into the fabric produces better quality and a softer hand.

Lou is right here. We can beat screen printers on smaller runs and be competitive on runs the size they like to do without all of the set up and tear down issued they have. It helps to have technology on your side.

accualy i would be ganging the sheets with maybe 9 per sheet so the cost would be way less than $500

Take this job as an example. If the shirts are $4 and the transfers are $5 that's a cost of $9. They are doing 3 color jobs on colored shirts around here for around $8+- in 100+ quantities. I guess it depends on your local economy and how much people are willing to pay.

It might pay to call around and see if there are any hungry printers in the area. If you can get them screen printed for $8, you can make $1 more per shirt and not even touch a shirt.

Hold on. where are you getting $5.00 a transfer.. 100 3 color transafer is $2.31 each. from First edition. that is for a 11x 11 size. I don't know who your using but that is way too high. and then if you ganged them with maybe 2 on a sheet then you could get 50 at $3.27 each and devide that by 2 so your cost is $1.64 each.

9 per sheet? Are you just printing pockets? I thought you were doing a back print with a pocket. 9 per sheet means I'd only have to print 12 sheets. That's only 30 minutes. If it's just a pocket print, I'd try to get $6.50 and $7.50.

I could also do this with image clip for the same or maybe a little less. ImageClip on Sand works fine.

These numbers make more sense...

Doing my own I can (1) spend 4 hours out in the shop and make an extra $200 or so on a job or (2) Use that money saved on outsourcing to undercut a competitor. On the other hand, If you're a one man show and stretched thin I can see giving up some profit to save some time.

The company that fixes my furnace at the house just had 20 red single color shirts done for $3.50 each. I quoted $4. This is why I don't spend any money advertising locally.

Man! thats depressing i cant even get red shirts for that price. well xl's for $2.67 but that would leave me with 83 cents that i have to print it and still make a profit maybe vinyl.
