It depends, what kind of shirts are you selling? Designer style shirts? If you are, then that's pretty average. If I were you, I would sell them for that much and offer a % off grand opening sale. If people still come back, then your price and designs are ok, if they don't then it may be various things.

The best way to guage how much to price your shirts for is to see how much your competition is selling their shirts for. Never undersell your products just to make a few sales & some bucks!

That tactic is the best way to commit marketing suicide! Once you gain a target market that will buy you t-shirts for $20, you lose that target market once you raise the prices! There's a term in market called "Percieved Value" basically what this means is the average customer percieves that when a product or service is priced higher it's worth the amount you pay for it! So the higher you price product & get customers at that price point the better for you. Now if you are not getting the desired sales at that price you can always lower the price. NEVER raise the price to get sales! Best strategy is to create several products at different price levels, High, Med & low price points. Just make sure that your product is quality fabric & printing & sales won't be a problem.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

I agree, it's really not ethical to start out with one pricing and then jack up the pricing. You loose customer loyalty and all of your marketing efforts to that point worthless. Now gradually increasing the price due to higher cost of production or creating a limited edtion tee is a different story.

IMHO, ethics has nothing to do with it. Charge what you want, when you want, and the market will sort you out.

The market will sort you out, right out of business. We all have our opinions though and I respect yours.

Sorry Q ethics has everything to do with it! Yo-Yo pricing will put you out of business! The market will not sort you out, if that was the case then why do so many of us spend time & money on market research?

Wow guys, thanks for the feedback (thats why i love this place) My market is is the gothic/meteal/rocker crowd. I went to a major gothic forms page and presented my graphic to some people, the first 3 people said "yea it think it would." Two other said they'd only buy it for $20. The last person said "it might." All i know is that thats not a good enough respond for me. I need to find away the have my Plastisol transfers made cheaper. I think ill lower the size, thats the only way. Anyway, thanks alot guys for your thoughts!!
