Default Help: Iron-on? Screen Print? Digital Print?

Hi, I'm new to the T-shirt world. I actually teach a performance group who recently voted on a design they would like for their show shirt. The design is rather complex and going to be put on a black shirt, but being new to this I don't know if I should do the design via an Iron on, or take it to a screen printer or get it digitally printed? I don't really know which would be best. I took it to a local print shop and they said it was too complex for them to print, so I'm turing to you for any advice. I would like to be able to get this done pretty afforadably and still have them look nice. I have about 25 shirts that need printed and I'll attach the picture. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or feedback.

Thanks,
Tod

I think your best hope is to find a DTG operator in your area or nearby..with all the blends and gradients, I don't think this is a good print for screen printing

Remember not all DTG machines will print on dark colors

With such a low minimum, DTG is the only option worth considering. Even then, it might not be a piece of cake finding someone who can do good quality prints on darks. On the plus side perfect colour fidelity shouldn't really be an issue with that design.

Because the design is a rectangle and has straight edges around it, it could be done with an opaque inkjet transfer. As long as the thicker hand does not matter for your group, than that is the best way to go. Otherwise, look at using a dtg contracter. Because of the amount of ink, you are probably going to want to go with a dtg owner that runs the Kornit to make it cost effective. Use the pricing on contractdtg.com as a benchmark. The cheapest way would be opaque transfer paper.

Hope this helps.

Mark

That would look great printed with dtg and much softer hand than transfer.

Agreed...I think DTG would be the best option although..as Mark said...it could be done with an opaque transfer (something like Ironall for darks may work) but I think the quality would be much better with the DTG approach.
