I'm a bit confused.
You mention that you have an Epson 1280 printer with Artanium ink but are looking for a paper that does not have a stiff feel. The artanium ink is a dye sublimation ink which, by nature, does not leave any "hand" and is very soft. The dye becomes part of the fabric. Of course, this would have to be printed on 100% polyster shirts (generally speaking).
When you mention the new paper from Proworld, are you referring to Clearsoft? If so, that is an inkjet heat transfer paper which is not designed to be used with dye sublimation inks. You would want to use pigment based inks for those transfers.
Perhaps this may explain some of the colors issues you are having.
If this is not the case, have you installed an ICC profile for your particular system (assuming it is a dye sublimation system)?
