Hello,

I have a few questions, hope you guys can help me out.

On the California Sellers Permit Application:

1. What do I put down for the Business Trade Name/ "doing business as" [DBA] space if I dont have a name selected for my company yet? Will this be legally binding if I decide to change my company name later?

2. Do I need a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)? Or is that just for people under special circumstances?

3. If I'm going to sell only online, what do I put down for the "Number of Selling Locations"? Zero?

4. I don't know what my Monthly Gross Sales and Projected Monthly Taxable Sales is, what do I put down here? I understand they want a estimation, so should I underestimate?

for question #1 i put down my first and last name and was asked to call back when I registered my name... i dont remember the rest.

#1put down your name...put your dba later if you get one
#2..FEIN...fed employer ident number...you don't use...you use your soc sec number..unless you are employing people... but even when I owned a garage, I just filed as sole proprietor and used my soc sec number
#3- you do have one location.... that is is where ever you are taking order..home...or...??
#4 - I underestimated..I think I put down 3k...but when I filed my return, I put the actual amount in..was never questioned

But you know the Franchise Tax Board will not bite...always go to the source to get the correct information

whats so hard to understand...who keeps your records...if you say so..if bookkeeper say so..
if you dont have a major calif supplier just say you dont..that all come from out of state..
