Default Need expert advice, thanks in advance

Hi there,

I am interested in producing one high end organic t-shirt to sell for my non-profit company. One design. One color t. All sizes. Branded with my logo. Packaged to my specs.

Here are my questions:

1. Are there companies out there that do the entire process? (blanks, labels, printing, embroidering, packaging, etc.) If so, is it remotely possible to use them or would the cost be too high?

2. If one company does not do the entire process, how do you piece it all together with labels and packaging and in what order do you contact each supplier?

3. Assuming that one company could do all the work, how much would each unit cost based on the following quantities - 1K order - 10K order - 50K order?

4. What is the typical mark-up in this industry to retailers?

Thank you for any help.

Gary

Hello again,

What happened? 75 people view my topic and not one response? Can someone please tell me what I did wrong? Did I post this question is the wrong area? Are my questions just plain stupid and not worthy of help? If anyone has any advice for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

Gary

There are MANY screen printers and embroidery studios that handle it all. You send the printer your going to work with your art for labels and the tees. you work with samples they show you of shirts and pick one. from there your printer will order the labels to be produced, order the shirts to have the labels sewn into, the shirts will then be sent to your printer, they will screen print and embroider, package each shirt and send or deliver to you.

You are paying for the printer to manage the entire job for you. They are responsible for creating art in format for creating the tags, approving final proof for tags, ordering tags and shirts from the company that will take care of it all. They are responsible for the printing and embroidery, ordering appropriate packaging for you and getting the finished product to you on time. For managing the entire job...which you must let them take care of, it's our specialty, don't bother trying to save money handling as much as possible by your self...pay the fee (markup on shirts, tags and art fees ) plus their usual fee for printing etc. and it will run smoothly for you and be worth EVERY Penny for your peace of mind and to allow you to focus on your specialty.
Cost...who knows, only your printer will know this once they know what shirt, what kind of label, what art work is needed including digitizing in prep for embroidery, vectorizing or cleaning up in general for printing, how many colors in the design, how many exactly, where is the finished product being shipped etc, etc, etc.

Shop around locally and nationally, there are many of us out here who manage large products like this.

Good luck and have fun!!!
