Default design contract

I was wondering if i was to outsource my designs to a screener should i write up a contract so that they would not use my image for someone else?

I'd guess if you're using a professional, legitimate screener, you wouldn't have any trouble. But hey, you can never be too careful.
You may want to search the forums for other general copyright info. I've read some good threads about various copyright issues.

Anybody else have any problems with screeners?

You may want a contract. Depending on the work they're doing for you, they may not consider you the exclusive right's holder to the images. For example a printer doing a shirt for a plumbing company may charge less for the art, because if another plumbing company needs art from them they'll tweak it and re-use it. Some companies could extend that to all artwork they create, so it doesn't hurt to make sure you're both on the same page.

(edit: this only applies when you're outsourcing your designs - those supplying artwork have nothing to worry about)

If your not creating the art you should have a contract or it will bit you in the rear later down the road. Who ever creates the art and the wording on the invoice will usually show ownership with the creator unless otherwise stated - get a contract.

I believe a couple have been posted here on the site

If you created the art and are having a printer print the design, you are fine. Might want to copyright the deigns yet just because you are letting the printer print the shirts doesn't mean he/she has been given the rights to use the art. Most reputable printers wouldn't mess with your art.
Registering the design and placing the appropriate mark will help to protect you and your art from anyone (for the most part)
