Default Re: price range for a design/logo

So I have a logo. Now I came up with the name but not the design. So do I need to get an application of some sort to claim my logo? Where do I get one of those? WOW...scary. I see my logo doing REALLY well and I am so not protected from who created it. I even use them for the ASI membership. I can see this coming back on me if I don't protect myself. What is my first step. Website? Application print out? Or is there something I can email him so I can get it in writting?

Register the name and apply for a trademark.

You can get the person that created the logo to sign off on a copyright release form giving you full rights to the logo design.

If you do a few Google searches I'm sure you'll be able to find some sample ones or legal sites selling them.
