I'm new to all of this so forgive me if this is a strange question or if there is another thread. I'm wondering how many folks among us in these forums are actually making a living from their shirt sales vs those that have simply paid for a great hobby (nothing wrong with that). I know there are those like Johnny Cupcakes that have really hit it big, but what can the average Joe with no storefront, but some good creative designs hope to average (through e-commerce and word of mouth sales)? I know its hard to determine and I'm surely not asking for someone to post last years tax return....just curious.

i guess that would depend on you. To some its just a small hustle, to others its a way of life. I guess its true what they say "You get what you put into it" . Im new to the business but I would life to take this to another level.

That pretty much sums it up since only you control how much you make.

It's not like asking how much can a librarian can make, because those are fixed salaries paid to you week in, week out. Not many factors will drastically change how much a librarian can make.

You are basically talking about a sales job with no defined limits on how little or how much you can make. I would say the Johnny Cupcakes type results are not typical, but they are possible.

i kind of agree with you. you must know how and where to promote your website to catch the potential customer.
