Red face How does it all begin????? I Need a Big helping hand...

Hi everyone, im VERY new to all this..
the past week i have been doing my study on Ways of Transfering To Tees...

I have a few questions, hope you can help

1. How do i get my artwork onto a Tee??? I know how to transfer from Computer print to Screen Printer, but to get good quality??? i thought id Stencile it instead??? can u use the same ink for that??

2.I have a Business number, and a name for my brand. If this takes off (fingers crosses) How do i sell to Funky Stores????

3.Whats the Trend, i have about 6 Designs, is that ok to start with??

4.Is going cheap a good way to start? I found a Heat Presser for $80 AUS..
And tubes of ink for 4 for $32 AUS....

Thanks heaps, and hope to hear from you...

You can send the artwork to a screen printer via email.

Search through the offline retail section of the forum for answers to how to sell to retailers.

Search for number of designs and you'll find all types of advice, suggestions and experiences posted

It's perfectly fine to start small and grow. Cheap may not what you want your brand to be associated with, but growing your business from a small starting point is done quite often.

I'm not sure what you mean by heat presser and tubes of ink. Not sure which printing method you are considering with those terms. If it's screen printing, you can find information about screen printing by searching through the screen printing section of the forum.

It usually begins with not enough knowledge, an enthusiastic but short envisioned idea and a series of large checks! Read as much on these boards as you can, write some sort of business plan or business structure and understand its for the long haul to get business and not a fast buck.

I have to totally agree with you on this one. I thought it would be a great idea to start into this and an easy way to make money, boy was I wrong. I did however write a business plan and now I have a way better understanding of things. As far as the checks go I've written so many and it seemed like nothing was ever going to come out of it until recently. I am finally getting to the point where I have something tangible and it's so exciting.

Just a note to the original poster. You will need a considerable amount of cash , patience, and vision to get going. I've sunk about 3-5k in so far and I'm just getting started now. I haven't sold or made anything yet. The patience you just have to have because not everything will go as you planned it. Vision, you'll need to envision yourself making this work, I personally have never even considered failure an option. I'm going to do this and that's all there is to it. I know I won't be huge over night but I will be someday.

Good luck and have fun on the forum!
