Default 100% Cotton T with Spandex Rib

Hi all,

I'm considering a supplier for T's that offers a 200gsm 100% combed cotton with spandex rib.

My question is: Is this still considered to be 100% cotton for using say Chromablast inks, or any process that requires 100% cotton?

Also, they offer a product 100% cotton pique knit. Am I correct in saying that 'pique' just refers to the type of weave, but is 100% cotton as they say for using Chromablast or any other process requiring 100% cotton?

Thanks,
Greg

Where is the spandex ribbing?

Pique knit is more of a bumpy texture, which may not work as well for heat transfers (it may work, but it will require some testing).

Thanks Rodney,

I think I will have to visit them on Monday. I don't know where the spandex ribbing is, so I'll have to ask. What is spandex? Is it a synthethic?

Lets hope the pique is not too bumpy. I'll have to look at that too.

I will report back here next week.

Cheers,
Greg

Yes, a stretchy synthetic (you may know it under the trademark Lycra, or the generic name elastane).

Ta Solmu for that!

I'm going to see the supplier on Monday and see where the Lycra is being used on the shirt. Hopefully, it's not where I want to print on.

Vinyl should be ok on most surfaces I guess?

the lycra rib is normally placed in the neckline and cuffs for sleeves. so, there is no need to worry about it..and 99% prints are on the chest or across back or on sleeves....

yeah.pique has a little rough texture but not much that the print gets affected...we've done many prints on pique....no probs..carryon..all the best!!!
