Default What's next?

So I am completely new to designing and producing t-shirts. So I have an idea for a design, what next? How does the idea get from my head to a shirt? Do I simply draw it on paper, do I use computer software? What's the best way to put the design on a t-shirt, sweatshirt, etc.? Where do I get the shirts? The best quality, least expensive, best selection of colors and styles, etc.? Can I/Should I put the design on the t-shirts myself on demand or should I order from someone else in bulk? There are a thousand other questions, but I am sure that this is already too much. Thanks for any help.

If you know how to draw and work on the computer, you create your design using graphics software and then either print the designs yourself with equipment you buy or outsource the printing to a screen printer.

Probably screen printing. You can either learn how to do it yourself or you can outsource it. Either way works just fine.

You can also use a heat press and screen printed transfers (plastisol transfers) to get the designs on t-shirts.

Other printing methods include embroidery, dye sublimation, direct to garment printing, vinyl transfers, etc.

From t-shirt wholesalers. Many of them can be found in this section of the forum.

You can do it either way and succeed doing it either way. You can find pros and cons of the different ways by searching the forum and reading experiences from other members.

Thanks for the info. You gave me a lot of topics and information to research further. I am still learning the best way to navigate the website, so I appreciate the mention of the search tool.
