Default New Biz: best process and delivering designs

Hey everyone!!!
I am starting a part time t-shirt business and I have an artist who will be creating our own designs on the computer. They will be multi-collor designs. We will have t-shirts, hats and other apparel.

My two questions are:

1. What would be the best process for me ? Heat, Screen, or other types of printing? Would appreciate links to any forums discussing this issue!!!!

2. Since I know literally nothing about graphics, what is the process of getting the images from the computer to which ever printing process I choose? Again, any links to forums discussing this issue would be greatly appreciated

Thank you!

You can find some good links to discussions comparing the different printing methods here: http://www.t-shirtforums.com/tags/versus/

Are you going to be doing the printing yourself, or hiring a printer to do it?

If you are hiring a printer to do it, you just email them the graphic.

I would definitely recommend reading through some of the versus threads that talk about the various printing methods side by side.

I would also recommend attending an industry tradeshow like PrintWear or ISS to see the different print technologies in person, take some classes, and see the final output on t-shirts to compare the different qualities for yourself.
