Wink Gang Run, Offset, Heat Transfers. What's Best?

Howbad is it to get garments gang ran, I mean how bad would it be when getting garments re-printed? What exactly is the difference between heat transfers and silk screens? What type of printing should I be looking to get that will last long, look great and can be reproduced without colors being off and the prints being off a little, or is it all part of the package? An info will be really helpful..........Thanx in advance
