Default Confused about artwork and legal rights

I just got finished searching and reading about copyrights, and I am confused,I see so many people selling Bob Marley Shirts or selling Various CD's that are just recorded Blank CDs....and I am trying to figure out how these people get around all this, the copyrights and all, like is there a loophole I dont know about? Is it okay to print a shirt with Bob Marley as long as it has "drawn by so and so" or what?

Alot of people like Reggae and Bob Marley and I would like to find a design I could use,but after reading The Copyright threads....it says even if you photoshop or do anything with an image it is still a violation?

They don't. They just do what they want, and then either get away with it, or suffer the consequences when they're caught. But they don't get around it.

This site has some usefeul copyright info regarding photos of celebrities. I imagine it would be the same for drawings. The Law for Photographers / Travel Photography Law / Legal Issues of Taking Photos

yes bob marley's estate licenses his image. They have the rights to his image and likeness...so even if you take an image of him and photoshop it and you can still see its him and you print it for commercial sale its a violation.

The best thing is to find yourself an artist who can do an original, buy the rights to it. Bob Marley's wife "aint" no fool.

There are lots of graphic designers here. You could put an ad in the classifieds here, just make sure you are clear what kind of design/style you need.

Try proworldinc.com. They carry transfers from most major transfer makers.
