Default Storing Inventory

I was just wondering how everyone stores their inventory. I will be having knee replacement surgery in 2 weeks and needed a bit more organization to the shop before I go under the knife. It seems like there has to be a better way then what I am doing. Just curious what everyone does. attach pictures if you can.

Thanks,
Ellen

Are you talking about printed t-shirts that are ready for sale to end customers via mail/internet order?

I was wondering about blanks. But, if any suggestions on pre printed as well would be appreciated.

I store blanks in 18 Gallon Plastic Totes. I label the tote with the brand/size/color and stack similar brands and colors together. I buy these totes when they are on sale, like after X-mas ( which explains why I have so many red and green totes ). When I prepare for an order, I just go into the storage room with a cart, pull the shirts out of the totes they are in and then leave. Probably not the best way but it seems to work for me.

Hey I like the tub idea. I am going to try that for blanks and use collapsible racks for display and finished product.

Thanks,

Ted

Yep that is the same type of storage I use, I also keep an inventory list inside each container so I know when to order more. Big lots has pretty good prices on the storage containers.

I would agree about not keeping much inventory, except I know with colors like White and Black I usually take advantage of any sales my supplier has since I know I'll go through them pretty fast.

I would love to not keep inventory but unfortunately, I order my garments from new york and it takes a week to receive them as I deal with childrens clothing and it is alot harder to get right away as adult tees. I dont keep my adult clothing in stock only my childrens.

That is a great idea. For smaller quantities you can hang the tees on racks with dividers for separating sizing, but then you have to deal with dust residing on your stagnant inventory. Not a bad idea if you move stock fairly quickly though.

I definitely agree with keeping an inventory sheet nearby to keep track of what's coming and going. It helps reordering alot simpler. Unfortunately my current boss doesn't have any methods in place, and hardly ever knows what we do and don't have on hand.

Lightbulb Re: Storing Inventory

Hello guys

I'm in the process of looking for storage for printed shirts that are ready for sale end. What do you guys think about this item for storage? Your inputs would be greatly appreciated.

I think it looks pretty good and the price is not bad at all, I think I might get something similar to stock my t-shirts, I like the fact that it doesn't have lids so it might be a faster way to get out and in, you can also put tags in the front with the information about size, color and material.

I think it is more appropriated for storing small parts, like hardware and things like that.
Besides with not lid dust may accumulate over the t-shirts. At least that would happen in my case.
And I think they are pretty small for t-shirts.
