Hi,
has anyone sold a design on ebay... I mean only the digital image not an actual t-shirt with the image printed on it?
I'm asking because I want to try and sell some high resolution designs with the copyrights included.
I've seen on ebay some fabric transfers and t-shirt decals but they sell for like 5$ but I guess this people sell them several times and the majority of them can only be used with transfer paper as they have to many colors for screenprinting. I want to sell design than can be used for both screnprinting and also for transfer paper and like I said with the copyrights included so I will sell a design only once.
if you sell the design with a copyright, you can only sell it once. if not, you will have multiple people claiming they own the copyright to the same design. if your designs are really that good, why not print them yourself and keep the profits from your artwork? don't like printing.. why not outsource it? i used to print my own stuff, but i outsourced it all to china and india. it lowered my overhead and gave me more time to build the brand.
i don't think the original-artwork-for-t-shirt demand in ebay is big enough. if you really don't want to print your own stuff and you only want to sell artwork, i'd recommend opening a custom art business. a lot of tshirt companies charge $35-$60 an hour to design artwork for custom shirts and 96% of it is crap.

Can you please expand what you meant by "outsorce"? (sorry but I don't have english as a first language so I don't understand all words).

Thank You!
sure, outsourcing simply means paying somebody else to do the work for you. for example, my clothing company grew too large for me to personally print the garments. so i 'outsourced' the work to manufacturers in china and india. i had to teach myself quite a bit about international trade, importing tarrifs and quotas -- but the time and money i saved was well worth it. if you're not up to the challenge, hire yourself a customs broker and they can walk you through it.

Thank you for your advice, it is an interesting perspective and I will take it into consideration for the future.
