"If you go over to the Local Business Center, you can create a free listing for your business and have it displayed on Google Maps. On that listing you can include a substantial amount of information, including a description of your business. street address, website URL, telephone number, hours of operation, payment methods accepted, and many other details to help prospective buyers."

great find. Thanks for sharing. Adding your info to as many free listings is a great thing for your business. I have been doing this for almost 8 years now and have our stuff all over the place.

It's really nice how this works as well. When someone searches for something local, you get a very big listing right at the top of the results with a map to your local, website address, etc. It's pretty cool.

There is also a way that you can add a coupon to your Google listing. I've read that it helps a lot for something like a pizza place: if someone looks for pizza in your town, and your listing has a coupon, they are more likely to come to your place. I don't know if the same is true for T-shirts!

The lastest issue (March '07) of Entrepreneur Magazine has an article dedicated to Local listings by Google, Yahoo! and MSN. Great tips there as well.
