"Check out this great interview that talks with Darryl McDaniels of Run DMC fame, telling the story of how Russell Simmons came up with the “My Adidas” song idea. This is real priceless stuff. This moment was very influencial in the rise of both athletic gear and hip-hop culture. A must for any hip-hop or fashion fan"....
That Clip Was Off the Meter!!!! It's crazy, because I've been looking for those Black on White adidas for a minute, but I've only been able to find WAC ones, where the white shell toe was a different color of white than the white leather. I went to several stores here in Colorado. if I was in my hometown of Queens, NY, I would be working on my 20th pair now! Nice work T-Bot.
PS I used to see RUN and DMC and LL every now and then. I lived in LL Cool J's neighborhood, on Farmers Blvd.

....yeah, some of that music is still on our play list.
Rap/Hiphop sure does contribute to fashion....more than people know.
I heard him doing an interview about the "addidas" thing of a different show (or I think it might have been an independent film about the hip hop industry)
It was pretty interesting. They did get paid by Addidas (I think after the fact), but not as much as they would have liked for what they did for the brand.
from junkie to super rich ... funny story .. maybe i should go get high on some tee shirts . vinlys.. and maybe i will be rich too..
Whoa, that's way harsh and assuming. "Junkie" is an alternative term for "addict". Russell an addict? Never heard that. Recreational user at one time for sure. In addition to being "super rich", Russ is a humanitarian, philanthropist and advocate.
