I am sure you have heard this before but does anyone know how to get rights to print anothers logo, legally, may have to pay percentage or what? What is the first step?
The first step is contacting the company whose logo you want to use Some of them may have licensing departments, so may just have legal departments, some may just be one or two person operation.
Further on to this thread started a long time ago... does anyone have any more info on what is involved in getting the rights to print logos, particularly well known ones. "Coca-cola" is an example but not exactly what I have in mind.
What does it usually cost for the priviledge and then would I expect to pay royalties?
I don't feel I am ready to be contacting big guns just yet as I am still just starting out but trying to do the research so I know what I am talking about when I do infact talk to these people and they don't think I am someone just out from a cave, if you know what I mean.
The only way to do it is just to contact the company you want to work with. Whether or not they allow you to have access to their logo is completely subjective and most likely very dependent upon the size and marketability of the brand; you'll never know until you try. The royalty fee is also purely dependent upon the marketabilty of the brand -- you could be looking at $50 or $50,000. Good luck!
