Just wondering if anyone knows what a pst number is called in Alberta, Canada? We don't have pst so I'm not sure what to ask for and I need it to order stuff.

Thanks very much but my problem is that most Canadian suppliers require a "pst number" to order at wholesale and since Alberta doesn't have pst, I'm not sure what to do.
Also, if I sell from my website to someone in another province, do I have to charge them the pst from their province?

No you don't have to charge them PST but they are required to pay the PST to their provincial government - Lol

What happens with the pst number is that wholesale suppliers need it to NOT charge you PST - because just the end user charges the PST on the product, so if I buy T-shirts I'm PST exempt but when I sell them I have to charge the PST and submit it to the province.

So - I'm thinking that if you just write No PST in Alberta on the credit application, they will not worry about it. I will be talking to my accountant later and I will ask her how it works and let you know.
