Hello all so i think that we have established that pictures drawn previous to 1923 can be used by all,, what if you ulter a picture and make it your own can it then be copyright as your own.. How about Fonts you can get fonts from the HUNDREDS of free font web sites so does that mean they are free to use and mass produce....

OK soo i want to have a variety store where by i have OLD SKEWL images such as the Transformer head, scar face, Kiss lips AND have NEW SKEWL where by im getting designers to make me fresh images then i might hav another section for classics IF the 1923 old artwork rule aplies... SO my question is to all you lovely users is there a way for me to buy say 200 old skewl images by say a franchise ect or do i have to go about tit the lame way and contact every single company in ragards to wether or not i can use there print example i have to contact the lable Kiss was signed to to get the picture of the lips then call the film crew that made Napolean Dynamite to buy pcitures of him?????

This is a derivative work. If the original work was copyrighted, then no - it's a copyright violation. If the copyright has expired you may be able to, but you'd need to consult the copyright act and/or a lawyer.

Not necessarily. Read the licence agreement for that font (often comes together in a zip file, otherwise google it).
