Red face 1800 numbers

Does anyone use a 1800 number for your online business if so, how has that worked for you and which one is the best out there? Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Im not sure what you mean by which one yet we have an 800 number. Actually 866 prefix and if you want to do business outside of your area code its a good thing to have.

I have an 888 for one business and it does seem to encourage customers to pick up the phone and call more often (which can turn into more business with the right people answering the phone )

For some, it's not really necessary (like if you're just starting a fashion brand), but for a service type business, it can definitely help.

You can get them right from your local or long distance phone company.

We have an 888 toll free number and I would recommend it for most businesses. Having a toll free number makes your company look more credible. Also customers outside your area code are more likely to call. We try to make it as easy as possible for our customers to contact us.

We got our number through Gotvmail.com. Your calls can be routed to any phone number and you can use it as your toll free fax line. We've been really happy with their service. It allows us to work from anywhere and still be able to answer the phone.
