Default Triangle in Illustrator

How do you make a triangle in illustrator? If I wanted to make one and put a graphic inside of it and then writing on each side?

All you have to do to make a Triangle in Illustrator is to click on the Star Tool and draw a star but before you release the mouse press the down arrow on your key board to eliminate the points of the star until you have a triangle.

(nice solution Art!)

If you like to draw your own or need a different shaped triangle, just grab the pen tool and click where you want the corners to be, the 4th click is back on the starting point. (your tool cursor will change a little when you get over the top of the first click point.

To edit the triangle, use the direct selection tool and click and drag a corner point it to it's new location.

The first one will give you a perfect triangle with the same degree of angle on each corner. The second would give you a more free form triangle.

To put text around it I would make a copy of your triangle and click on it with you text tool. If you hold on the text tool it will pop more choices and one of those is "Text on a path". Click the text tool on the triangle and type your text. It will follow the line of the triangle. You can change size and spacing to affect how it flows on the triangle.

Click on the Star tool, click on the artboard and a dialog box will come up. Change the number of points to 3 and hit OK.

Good Luck!
