Default Ordering samples and Prices for selling shirts

Hey when I start to order samples, what is a reasonable amount to purchase and how should I order the sizes?
Also when it comes to finding out how much I want to sell my shirts for what aspects do I need to consider? Please be specific I dont want to OVERkill or UNDERkill anything!

It depends on what you are doing with the samples.

Are you just doing a test run? Then you only need a few samples to see if they meet your quality standards.

Are you using them as sales samples to show prospective buyers? Then you may need a few sets of each style and size you are offering.

Are you sending them to sales reps and buyers? Then you may need a dozen or two of each style and size you are offering.

As a general rule, sample any style and size you intend to sell.

LOTS of factors...

Your production costs, such as garment, printing, labels, hangtags, shipping, etc. Make sure your markup covers any monthly business expenses you have, such as rent, web hosting, etc.

Then you need to define, analyze and understand your target market. Is it a market that has a lot of money? What are your competitors selling for? What are they wiling to pay for your product? And be objective and honest with yourself. Ask other people too. Just because you have a price in your mind, doesn't mean the consumer has that same price in their mind.

The pricepoint you determine based on your costs needs to match the pricepoint you determine based on the target market. If not, you will be working within a flawed business model.
