If the customer has a license, then it would be ok. If not, then you were correct to say no.

They were either licensed or non-licensed, it's hard to tell without seeing them. What type of store was it? How do you know the store printed them? Maybe the bought them, if so, they could have been legit. But it wouldn't surprise me if they were non-licensed, it happens all the time.

Well, you can make them. But if you are not licensed, you could be sued. It is illegal to use registered marks without license or permission.

You can contact licensees to place wholesale orders on licensed apparel. Usually, they strictly deal with retailers. I don't know about dealers, but you can probably contact the leagues and get more info.
