Default Selling Phillies t-shirts

I have had a customer ask me to make a customized Phillies shirt. I told them I couldn't do it because I don't have a license to reproduce their logo. But I drove by another shirt store today and they have all types of Phillies shirts and Eagles shirts that they had printed in their windows. So can I make these shirts? Is there a wholesale dealer out there that sells t-shirts wholesale that are licensed NFL and MLB?

Thank you,

Pam

Not legally without permission.

They could be doing it illegally or they could have actual licensed t-shirts. Hard to say what's happening behind closed doors in someone else's business dealings.

New World Sales - Wholesale Licensed T-Shirt, Apparel, Collectibles Source - Clothing Retail Supplier sells officially licensed products wholesale. You need to register with them to get the details.

If the customer has a license, then it would be ok. If not, then you were correct to say no.

They were either licensed or non-licensed, it's hard to tell without seeing them. What type of store was it? How do you know the store printed them? Maybe the bought them, if so, they could have been legit. But it wouldn't surprise me if they were non-licensed, it happens all the time.

Well, you can make them. But if you are not licensed, you could be sued. It is illegal to use registered marks without license or permission.

You can contact licensees to place wholesale orders on licensed apparel. Usually, they strictly deal with retailers. I don't know about dealers, but you can probably contact the leagues and get more info.

They could be buying licensed transfers. But it would be just as easy to print off non-licensed transfers.

I've never used them myself, but I've heard they do exist.

Art Brands carries some officially licensed heat transfers. I don't know if they have MLB, but they have some big brand names: Wholesale Heat Transfers | Heat Transfer Designs | T-shirt Heat Transfers

I saw some MLB lighters at New World Sales, but I haven't seen apparel lately.
