High-end "exclusive" brand, product and marketing questions
I've used cafepress, and I've also tried basic screen-printing for a few dozen Hanes.
But I have a new brand now and want to go strictly high-end, does anyone have any info on how these brands get started?
I'm in NYC and I see these $50 limited T-shirts from a few streetwear brands, printing anywhere you want on the shirt, foil, all-over, etc. what kind of printing is this and who provides it? Same for hats, all-over embroidery, and hoodies (and jeans, and sneakers, and accessories...well eventually ).
Re: High-end "exclusive" brand, product and marketing questions
There are two ways to acheive the "all-over" printing look - either have fabric printed first and then sewn into shirts, or have shirts printed "all over"
This thread mentions a few printers who do all-over printing (not many screenprinters can do this kind of printing because it requires specialized equipment).

Thanks I will check that out. When I say "all-over" I mean that they can print at different locations on the shirt, for example down one side including the hem, or those necklace-print t-shirts that include the collar and go straight down.
I didn't know about the printed and then sewn, that is probably how those all-over hoodies are done.

Ah, ok. So not all-over, just alternative placement, then. You might have an easier time finding a screenprinter for those kind of prints (rather than all-over). Just ask if they will print over seams.

Possibly. If the print stops at a seam, that's what it is. Having this kind of garment made is usually going to require pretty high minimums - 1000 pieces or more.

Ive said this in a few other posts; you can charge whatever you want for clothing, just market properly and you will absolutly no problems. there are almost 7 billion people on this planet I'm sure there are a ton of people willing to spend $50 on a shirt.
