Default Quotes and Sayings vs. Designs

Hello fellow members. One thing I was wondering about was how the quotes and sayings tees compare to basic designs tees?

Anyone have experience with this?

In what way would you like them compared? Price? Printability? Sales?

That would be sales first.

I guess it depends on the type of brand you are developing and what the target market is. Quotes and sayings tell an exact story. Designs add an artistic element to the shirt. Based on what is on the market today, I'd say designs generate more sales. Even a lot of quotes and sayings shirts have some sort of design element for added value.

You could use a quote with a little design next to it. It should do better.

check out www.thegreetingplace.com
we have had this quote card company for 11 years and it does really well.
The appeal is pairing a quote with a corresponding or contrary type image.
note...women buy almost everything and influence the men when they buy...just sayin
humor quotes sell more than insight or inspirational
( more gift appeal in addition to self purchase )
and , as said ,design is everything

pick a niche and market to that, it matters more what they think than what you think

good luck

Thank you guys, I do agree quotes and sayings with the design would be one of the best ways to go.
