Need to Register?

Hey guys/gals. First post, total noob. Decided I'm going to do what I've always wanted to but have no experience. Today I finally started putting a screen printing box together(trying at least).

What I want to know is, what is the best way to make a design and then how do I get that design onto a t shirt?

I know the basics , like use a clear transfer -flip the design- then print it out and expose it to light. But I would like to know the specifics please or your methods.

ex. I draw a stick figure with words underneath in photoshop. flip it .print it out then expose that image to light on a screen peel it off with water and I'm good to go?

Sorry if this is annoying, any advice appreciated

Are you specifically asking about screen printing?

There are several different ways to get an image on a t-shirt (screen printing, DTG/direct to garment printing, embroidery, heat transfers, dye sublimation, vinyl transfers, etc)
